Srinagar, Apr 27 (KNO): The Roads and Buildings Department (R&B) is all set to start the macadamisation process next week with officials stating that around 900 KM road length will be macadamized this summer. The complaints are pouring in from almost every corner of Kashmir with people especially commuters saying that they are facing immense hardships as most of the roads have developed potholes. The commuters have appealed to the concerned authorities to macadamize the roads at an earliest to ensure smooth passage of the vehicular movement. Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Chief Engineer R&B, Showkat Jeelani Pandith said that the funds of Rs 200 Crore are available and the department will macadamise approximately 900 KM road length this season. “All the roads and areas are priority for us. The work will be started soon,” he said, adding that the tenders will be issued next week—(KNO)
